Default switching clients sites to a reseller plan

Hi,
I've been with HG for almost a year and a half now. I've directed 2 clients (with one more signing up soon) to HG and they are all using the baby croc plan ($10/month). The two that are already signed up have paid for one year in advance.

My question is this: If I were to purchase a reseller account, could I transfer their sites to be hosted under my account, and if so, what happens to the money that they've already paid for hosting that doesn't run out yet for several months? Does HG issue a pro-rated refund to them, and then they sign up with me or what?

I guess my main question is what would be the best way to migrate users from HG hosted shared sites to my reseller account?

Thanks!

Yep you can do that, the best way would be to signup for a reseller account, use the cpanel backup/restore to move them (http://www.hostgator.com/backup.shtml), then change their DNS and wait 3 days for them to use the new account and then cancel the old baby accounts. If you have money left on those accounts we can apply it to your new account, just email sales@hostgator.com after you sign up.

Thanks for your response.

Another question:
How does billing work for accounts that I sell from within my reseller account? Will I need some sort of merchant account (CC processor) in order to receive payments, or is that a part of the reseller account?

Thanks

Yep I would suggest requesting WHM Auto Pilot and setting that up to manage your signups, you can take payment however you would like from your clients, paypal, check, etc.

We are not involved in that aspect as that is between you and your customers.
