Hello,
I would like to host the new rails project on which i am working on an SVN repository so that I and anyone else working on it with me can use TortusSVN or similar client to sync the files to our computers and then upload the changes to a remote location. I understand from reading some of the posts here that this is not allowed on Hostgator, and in a way I can see why - large projects with hundreds of commits and updates would degrade server performance. But I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to where I could get hosting for SVN - I heard someone talking about Google providing this but I'm not sure. I would rather not use CVS as a friend and I had boatloads of trouble with it over the christmas hols when we were trying to set it up. Suggestions appreciated. H. |

Hello.
Thanks for the link. I did not sign up with Google code in the end as they apparently need you to have a Gmail account (even though I already have a 'general' Google account) and I just couldn't be bothered to do that at this time of night. So I went with http://opensvn.cse.org from the second link you gave me, signed up and got the password confirmation within 2 minutes. Perfect. thanks again. H. |
