Last night the mysql server seemed to be down for a bit but it came back up for a few minutes. A few minutes ago all of my sites were having dns problems, and now mysql seems to be down again.

I am currently showing imap = failed and intermittent server load warnings. I have emailed support.

Yes, It's been in red zone since Saturday (GMT+8). I've spoken to Lea and Sam about it, and they did a restart - but the problem still persists. imap, cppop, exim, exim-26 & Server Load keeps on failing. Hopefully they're able to resolve the situation quickly, as my clients are complaining about their email errors.
Thanks! |

Our head technician has been working on correcting the recent Supra issues. I apologize for the inconveniences caused by these issues, but we will post an update soon.

I'll get an update for you soon, I know yesterday Lyron our head admin was working on the email issue which affects all the other services if it shoots load up, in the past that is usually caused by a massive dumping of spam into the server but I will have him clarify and explain. You should seen an update here later today with a full explanation and it should be rock solid in the next 12 hours if not now.

I'm not aware of mysql failing but for the email we recently put a limit on supra to 30 checks a hour. We have resellers with 40+ accounts checking all 40 boxes minutely 24/7
Once 30 checks in a hour is hit it blocks from further checking. So go in and disable auto checking if you have it on or set it to something realistic like 15 minutes. As for load the server has been doing backups and load is always going to spike when this happens however shouldn't cause any problems on the server. The red light for server load doesn't matter we are the ones that set that number we could set it to 1 , 100, 1000. etc It was set to a low number so I changed it to 30. There's also 2 sites on the server that would be the cause of the mysql issues I'm going to give the boot to now / have warned in the past. You know the veterans that are always at walmart taking donations? They just started a site and put it on supra a few days ago and it's causing higher loads. They refuse to pay the money for a dedicated and threatened to do some national attack on us if we suspended them. We warned them.. have no choice now they need a dedicated and if they aren't going to pay for it we have no choice but to shut them down.

I've almost posted into this thread several times, but I'm glad I waited. If I hadn't waited, it would have been a very angry posting. My accounts, like everyone elses on this server it seems, have been going up and down over the past few days. I've had SSL, FTP, MySQL, etc errors and have sent in about half a dozen trouble tickets.
I want to say thank you Brent for explaining what has been going on. Honestly, my biggest complaint about the support here is that we don't always know the cause. Most tickets I get back are 'Problem fixed. Please verify same at your end.' with no further explanation. It would be outstanding if the techs would at least say, "Hey, MySQL had too many connections and we had to restart it", or whatever it was. Not that it makes any difference in the grade scheme of things, but it'd be nice to know that y'all are doing more than just rebooting and praying, like I tend to do when my computer is messed up. - Ryan |

Ryan,
I can understand where you're coming from and will consider that post "Positive Criticism." We'll work on making sure support tickets if possible provide a brief explanation of the incident at hand. Granted not everything will deem a full detailed breakdown of the issue, however for those failures such as the one listed above a more thorough update via ticket I'm sure would be helpful. Appreciate the post! |

Positive criticism seems fairly accurate. That said, that's a pretty minor issue which means y'all take care of the major stuff really, really well. This is the first time in the about six months I've been here that a problem has lingered for more than a day or so.
