Default supra fsck needed

We need a fsck on both sda7 and sda3 for supra.websitewelcome.com 67.18.2.226 exim processes keep hanging 18054 mailnull 15 0 1852 1852 1784 S 99.9 0.1 0:00 2 exim
15488 root 19 0 4204 4204 2668 R 99.9 0.4 8:05 3 exim
9098 root 19 0 4204 4204 2668 R 99.5 0.4 0:13 1 exim

They build up until the server is going very slow and crashes exim.

We believe this will resolve it. the Fsck should take around a hour.

It looks like the entire server needs a fsck now which is being done and will take awhile.

Does it matter anymore? It seems like all their cars are broken and they don't know how to fix them.

So much for the green light you gave me on the other forum (I moved the critical sites back in and boom... down again). Are we supposed to have any confidence left in this server?

Can you give an ETA?

porsche is up user crashed it that we have suspended.

Heres what I know on supra......
Everything was running fine until we had the fsck done which should have solved last issue / fix mail issues. It came up few minutes after the fsck like it was suppose to. After it came up it began corrupting the data. (same thing that happened first time around)

Everyones trying to figure out how. My guess is the tech who swapped raid out as we requested first time put the same bad raid back in! (no way of knowing at moment)

As far as what the data is like now no way of knowing until it's up. I have them looking for the orginal drive from the first time around. I wish for their most knowledgable guy to take a look at it. If they can find it I suspect it can be recovered and would have all the data that was lost in the last month.

Above is what i know... and think... we are working on some facts. I'm freaking out more than anyone any of you I guarantee it!

This can end a few different ways...

1. better shape getting all lost data back.
2. getting back online with minimal data corruption we can fix fast now.
3. everything being lost.

I'm having a little trouble breathing so lets pray for 1.

Well... we are back to square one then.... sites down and little idea when they will be back or in what shape.

Perhaps now is the time to set everyone up on a new server. If supra comes back, everyone can have two accounts for a week or two until they decide which to go for.

One thing you surely can't do is let this continue...

Negative Re: supra fsck needed

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME.
I'M TO YOUNG TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK.

Get it up! I don't care what it takes just get it up!!!!
And *PLEASE* give me an ETA ASAP.

Tell the data center to get EVERY GUY to work on the issue!
What are they a bunch of ********************?

This is increadable... I've been so patient and supportive so far... but I can't handle it twice!

Trinity I'm with ya......

It's all beyond screwed up. Everyone can't be in limbo and needs a solution.

There's still a chance to come out of this better than before. I'm wishing for that but with everything that has happened it's hard to be positive.

I've changed hosts. That is the best course of action. I hope that I can recover some data but at this point I don't think so. I was going to backup everything the night it happened. So sad. Too bad. Costly mistake on my part.

Unhappy Re: supra fsck needed

Brent,

I understand.

I just need an ETA!

Please give us regular updates so that I can at least keep my stress level below the red line!

Off topic... It would be nice to have an emoticon of a face screaming hysterically... could be useful to us

Yes, ETA please. If you don't have one, call the DC and INSIST they give you one.

Also, what about the point I made regarding new dual-accounts on a better faster server?
I frankly find it hard to have ANY confidence in this one at all.

Unhappy Re: supra fsck needed

Well, I already restored all the data from the last month, so I am not personally concerned with that. But two days of restoring stuff only to have it go down again and having to redo it all over again is going to be quite hellish. The last month is nothing. The last two days are what's important to me and my clients. I'm just glad that most of them are understanding of what's going on.

What's up with your tech support anyways? They seem to have difficulty understanding common English.

Post Re: supra fsck needed

Hey all,

I downloaded a backup on the 4th, .tar format.
I just tried to open it in winzip but it wouldn't work, said it was corrupt.

However... it did work when i tried it in WinRAR.

Just a note for anyone else having this problem...

ETA please?

Why no answer? Have you not spoken to the DC?

And what about giving us all optionsof a new account on a better server.. so we can run two until this fiasco ends? I don't think that's a lot to ask in the circumstances.

No eta yet but can't be to long. (hours not days to know what is going on) Without the facts you can't give an eta. Theyre looking for the hard drive from when first happened. I assume this can't take more than a hour.

They got someone getting current drive up working through the corruption.
They got someone thats going to talk with tech who orignally worked on this.
Everything can't just be put back up online without knowing what's going on otherwise, this will just happen again. We need some solid answers and that is what I am working on getting. They are working their hardest to find out what is going on although it is a little late for that now.

Whatever is going on is NOT professional. It is someone's incompetence on the line and we are all paying for that. There are too many hosts out there that HG can not afford to have things like this happen. Competition is fierce and problems like this will force us to choose another host. A happy person would tell one or two people about it, whereas an unhappy person will tell hundreds...

I understand that problems sometimes occur but how we resolve them is the important question and how we can come out of this ****. So far we are still deep inside it. I can’t explain how disappointed I am… I need to know what is happening right NOW!

It's rather hard to have any confidence in them to be honest Brent.

But back to what you DO have control over: the issue of accounts on another server. You read it... why didn't you answer?

If you create new accounts for us, we can start building our stuff up on that and then decide whether to stick with Supra or move (hardly likely to stay to be honest). The point being though that at least WE can be doing something, and if Supra comes up fine then there's nothing lost, and we can choose to stick with it if we want.

I agree, Matrix0. We ourselves have already placed a request for a server transfer. We don't care if the data is transferred with it or not; like I've said before, we have all of our data already since we're obsessive about backups. We just need a stable server to work from.
