Ppl,

Having only been with HG for over a month and being on acura I for one am happy with the way HG (Brent et al.) have handled the acura situation. But anyway back to supra...Reading all of the above it seems to me that the only people who are really upset are those who did not have a DR plan of their own. Well thats why the others live in the real world where you have backups of backups!

Reading thru I think supra maybe beyond resolution it might be better for Hg to get a new server and migrate everyone and then rebuild supra?

Amit,

You obviously didn't read all of the posts. For most of us it is not about the lost data. It is the server downtime, almost a week now. What good are our backups if there is no server to load them on? You missed the point totally.

Your smug and arrogant attitude will make you few friends.

Neither will trying to shift the blame for this fiasco onto the victims of it... the customers.

In the 'real world', Mr Smug, hosts are paid to host. When they fail, it is NOT the customers fault. When they fail spectacularly, and deliver incredible downtime, it is even less the customers fault.

Still disagree with this 'reality'? Maybe we should post this whole thread on WHT then and let the punters there decide? I think I know what they may think somehow.

As CDsailer points out, had you read the posts properly (assuming you CAN actually read properly) you would see that backups/etc are not the only issue. I haven't been able to get into WHM for 24 hours. The main site left on there has been down for the same period.

So I think you know exactly where to can stick your '2ps'.

And PS: Some of use have been asking for a transfer to a different server since this started. We are yet to get an answer.

I'm sure that your clients are very happy that you have backup of backups that are still not up. I'm sure that your clients are very happy that they don't have e-mail for 3 or 4 days but are very comfortable with your backups.
Just curious but do you tell your clients that it's they fault that their sites are down because your host FAILED to live up to their promises?

As I have said I should have know better. You will not get a argument from me on that. But to say that Brent has handled this issue well is, well crazy. It has not been handled well at all. Too many different explainations that conterdicted one another. This was a situtation that got out of control quickly and they could not handle it well.

Also since they are being paid to be the professionals they claim to be it's rather odd they you would defend them becasue it's is their job to have backup of backups. It's their job to have spare servers. I paid them to do these things so I don't have to. At least I thought they were going to live up to their promises. So don't blame the client. I'm not blaming mine I don't think that you such be blaming hostgator clients either.

If you are so trusting Amit, why don't you ask to have your domains moved to supra?
