Positive stop over subscribing shared hosting accounts [Resolved]

Hostgator please stop over subscribing shared hosting accounts.

I ping to my websites from australia 230ms

yet when I try to load a simple small forum hosted by HostGator, it takes 10 minutes to laod, sometimes not at all.

if you value your reputation hostGator you will stop over subscribing your servers.

Hello,

I'm very sorry to hear of your recent experiences. I've spent some time with the server this morning and it appears loads have been quite low over the past month. 230ms responses over a transatlantic link are also quite normal. Checking server capacity, that is also very low at only 20% of the /home directory in use.

I would however like to speak further with you regarding the troubles to find out what exactly you've been experiencing recently. I've sent you an email just now with further information. I'll look forward to speaking further with you so we can resolve this matter.

Best Regards,

Hi Joshua

yes 200ms is very good from australia, however my problem is when I try to view a simple website that only has a small forum on it... I find that some times in the day it takes 10 minutes to load, or not at all and times out..

My ISP is the best in Australia and Government owned, so I doubt it has anything to do with it... hence the 200ms to your servers.

I am running a new win7 ultimate 64bit PC , using IE9
Phenom 2 quad core
4 gb DDR3

it has to be that Argenta server playing up.. this has been going on for quite some time

I do love how your test server is lightning fast, shame not all your servers respond like that

Perhaps moving my account to another server in another data centre may do the trick?

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and your email earlier. I've actually sent an email reply back to you via that with more information and a few things I'd like to look into further first. I can certainly assure you though we'll get this all sorted out for you, I would however like to rule out the possibility of routing issues first.

Best Regards,

Josh, you are a legend at spending your time and effort trying to investigate any problems on my websites.. I just want to thank you and say I am very gratefull.

You sent me server logs to prove hostgator is not running over capaity, and you also helps rule out any network issues..

I decided after all the correspondance to each other, that I will try to start using Firefox..

Since using Firefox instead of IE9, I have noticed a big improvement on loading times, including no more time outs.

Again I want to thank you Josh for all your help

Good Morning,

Thank you for your willingness to work with me regarding the recent issues. I also appreciate your patience as we ruled out possible issues with the server. Happy to hear a browser change helped though in the end. Firefox is definitely a good choice and what we use here at Hostgator day to day.

Beyond this if there is anything at all I can assist you with, please feel free to contact me via PM here on the forums or my email.

Thanks again!
