Default Status Site

Hello Brother and Sister reseller folks...

I just put up a status site to keep my clients informed about my server status... Anyone interested can take a look... I think I've covered everything, but let me know if, from a client standpoint, would like to see something else...

Rainbow Flair Status Page

P.S. Before you ask, the status page is on "Curly", and yes, I know if Curly goes down, so does my status page... but I have the fewest client's on there, and will probably be moving them soon anyway... I guess I could get a one site hosting package just for the status page, but... I don't think so...

Can't seem to connect to the site! Did you just change the DNS?

A couple of days ago... I've gotten about 12 hits so far from this forum, so it's working most of the time... and it's working as I write this... give it another try if you want.. and thanks for trying the first time..

Well heck... I don't know what to tell ya... it's working for me.. I've had a dozen or more hits from HG forum, so I know the link is right... Oh well, just when you think it's safe and all that...

I was able to hit it each time I tried. The first time Larry and Moe were up, but Curly was down. Now Larry is up and Moe and Curly are down.

Yeaaah! I was beginning to think I was missing something... not the first time either... I seem to get some false negatives with the indicators... for example, if you are seeing the site, then Curly must be working... yet the indicator sometimes says it's down... If anyone knows why that might be, or better, how I can fix it... Thanks for taking a look...

Interesting, I can't get in again 3 people reporting the issue now maybe you should check with whomever handles your nameservers.

Well, this is very strange... this morning I thought the server was down, because I couldn't get to my .info site... but all the other sites on there are working... and enough of you are having problems as well... is there something about .info that could do that?? All my dns stuff goes through BulkRegister, so I don't think that's it... ?? Open to thoughts...

Well in terms of behaviour it seems like a DNS problem. Take it up with them anything more on my part would just be a wild guess.

By the way it's still not responding as if the domain does not exist.

I'm really stumped... it's working just fine for me, at least now it is.. and has been except for first thing this morning... I think it's DNS related as well, but heck if I can figure in what way... I did set up private name servers for that site, but I did the same for all the rest of the sites and they are working fine.. maybe it will straighten out after a bit... I know some are getting in to see it, as I am getting hits from this forum and comments... oh well... I'll play with it a while and see what happens... Thanks to everyone that tried...

Hmm.. I'm not sure what worked, because I didn't do anything... maybe it just took some time for everything to settle in... I'm still getting the same errors reported, which I've asked my registrar about... I guess I'll wait and see what else happens.. I haven't told my clients about the site yet, so maybe I'll hold off until my next newsletter..

Thank you... now that I've put the nameservers back, it seems to be okay... I guess that will teach me not to fix something that's not broken...

Which part are you talking about? The status indicators, or the find your server script? Both took some looking to find, but I'll be happy to share...

How you have it available to see if your servers are up or not... That would be a great addition to our website.

Yeah, I like that too... I do get some false negative readings at times, but I think that was my DNS problem... seems to be okay now...

The other part I like is the lookup feature... that's a flatfile database that I found because I was just too lazy to set up a mySQL database...

Thanks again for the feedback... oh, and for those that haven't been following this thread from the beginning of time, the site in question is...
