Default SSL and WHMCS

I am planning to get an account with HostGator by early April, a couple of questions that I have.

1. Since you provide WHMCS for free, does it mean that I have to have SSL installed and a dedicated IP for it to work ? or can I just use the shared SSL ?

2. For the eNOM reseller account , does this mean the pricing for the domain is in a reseller bracket also ?

Thanks so much to HostGator, I signed up for a local hosting that I have here in the Philippines, but it turns out that their support went from so-so to not good, takes about 48hours for the reply and a seemingly arrogant support when I email . Hope to do business with you guys, soon.

You should never use a shared SSL with any form of ecommerce.

Yes, to do it properly you should have all the above. I have a cheap SSL on mine since I'm not doing any transactions, only collecting customer names, addresses and contact info.

if you want to use google checkout, you must also get one from their approved list of providers.

The private SSL that comes free with Business plans is the Comodo Positive SSL.

I dont see Comodo Positive SSL on the list , I see these
  • Comodo AAA Services root
  • Comodo Secure Services root
  • Comodo Trusted Services root

  • Is Comodo Positive SSL part of one of these three ?

The wording above the list says, "Google Checkout currently accepts an SSL certificate whose root certificate is from any of the following Certificate Authorities (CA)."

You need to find out if this SSL cert's root certificate is from one of the ones on the list.
