Default SpamAssassin Configuration

I've got a reseller account and, while things are overall working, there seems to be a lot of "stuff" between me and the utilities.

I can find and edit the Spam Assassin configuration file, but I'd like to know what version is running. Is there anywhere I can find out what the current version is without looking and comparing file sizes on executables?

Also, any hints on configuring would be greatly appreciated.

I really wish RBL was configurable at my level, as I need to let certain sites through but want to block others. In any case, there is no RBL filtering on my server now, making Spam Assassin even more important to have working at peak efficiency.

Default Re: SpamAssassin Configuration

The problem is that RBL and spam assassin are so hard on the server, that most hosting companies will not run it on their shared servers. Too much processor usage required.

Its too bad bacause it would be nice, but don't plan on ever seeing it.

If HG ever gets that spam firewall they were thinking about, that would be a whole lot better.
