Not that I know of. Please submit a support ticket so we can look into this.

I also saw this same change in tagging format, so it wasn't isolated to just one account. It changed on hummer on 4/28/2010 between 13:01:38 -0500 & 14:15:16 -0500.

Got word back on my ticket, that there was a recent update that changed the exim configuration file, hence the change on spam markings.

Exclamation Re: Spam Assassin Changes

And now HG has made yet another unannounced change. Now Spam messages no longer have "***SPAM***" nor "[SPAM}" in their subject lines. Now there's nothing in the subject that indicates they are SPAM. So anyone who had client side email filter rules that relied on one of those conditions has to make yet another change to filter their email. Now they have to know about the hidden mail headers and filter based on them.

I'm sure this will greatly annoy many a reseller and their customers.

This change should have not happened. We will be correcting this today and subjects will go back to rewriting to [SPAM] as it was reported in the original post. I am sorry if this caused any inconvenience. We will post again when its updated across all servers.

Servers are now marking spam emails with the subject of [SPAM]. Let us know if you see any other issues.

Yes it did just that and then sometime between 18:38:10 -0500 & 20:55:30 -0500 it went back to "***SPAM***" again (at least it did on hummer). I personally don't care which way it goes but as I noted before, others who are doing subject line filtering may.

Before I found this thread, I was told by one member of hostgator support that all of these domains were now getting spam from ..... "being part of newsletters, submitting to bogus web forms or, joining social networks".
Yes, I get unrelenting SPAM on my personal email address that is tied to my Facebook account. I made the mistake of doing one of those stupid surveys and the deluge began.

I have a SPAM box set up, but I have to go in and delete it all every few days, otherwise it eats up the account quota and my real emails start bouncing.

Have you considered setting up a process to run from cron that does the cleaning for you? That's what I do. I use the python script that's referenced here and it works like a charm. I didn't have to modify it in any way to work with my accounts. There does appear to be a change to it that we may eventually have to make if/when python is upgraded on HG servers (read the discussion lower on the referenced page about that possible change).
