Some clarification on Unmanaged VPS

I am in need of a VPS. My purpose is to use it as a File Archive and to provide download mirrors for some open source apps like Ubuntu, etc.. So VPS Level 1 or Level 2 will be enough for me without WHM / cPanel.

Now, i want to is it possible to host a domain/subdomain in my VPS so that i can brand my URL to the files hosted on it.

Also can i install MySQL in it ?? Bcos, i want to keep some Databases also in it.

Be careful you don't go over the bandwidth limitations of the plan you select. Mirrors take lots of bandwidth.

@striddy, thanks for your reply. Ya i know it will consumes high bandwidth. Anyway i can able to control it. Btw, do u have any guide on How to Setup a Domain in the VPS within the SSH ?? I think the guide at http://dev.antoinesolutions.com/apac...r/virtual-host is the exact one what i am looking or is.
