Hiya, I'd ask this on the support forums if I had access to them (still waiting on verification/activation) but I was wondering whether HG charged for the installation of a blogging software.
I used to use one called MovableType and felt really comfortable with it, and would like to use it again. Am loath to pay the US$49.95 licence AND the US$99.95 installation charge that MovableType charges ~_~; Thanks. |

Direct all your support questions to support@hostgator.com. They can answer anything. I'm not sure if they would do your install for you or not.

You should get a ticket number fairly quickly. If you didn't get any response, I would send another email or call. If you got your first response, but nothing from your ticket, then I would wait a reasonable amount of time and call.
They may be overwhelmed by the number of people contacting them about the two outages that are just being wrapped up. |

I'm fairly sure you should get a reply back from the automated system. If you are not, then I would suspect something is wrong. Check to make sure your email spam catcher is blocking emails from HG.
Asgard? Norway maybe? Anyway, chat support is somewhat useless, but they are good for asking what's up with a ticket. You should always get an automated response from HG on tickets fairly quickly. |

I think HG charges $25 for install of WHMAP?
I think 100 is a slightly hefty price for install of a blog. If HG can't/wont do it for you there are a ton of people on these forums who are well resepected linux freaks, well sorta, who I'm sure could do it for you for a reasonable fee. I would offer but I'm out of town and simply can't. If you ask people, I'm sure you will get an offer. Good luck! P.S. Mabey if you e-mail sales@hostgator.com you will get a faster responce

I'm used to the MT system, it does the things I need for it to do; things that I can't quite get WordPress to do. Plus I don't want to inconvenience people here on the forums. Well that was interesting.
I emailed that sales address re: account activation, and got a ticket back immediately. But when I emailed the support address, nothing. Since my account hasn't been activated yet, could someone please raise this with HG on the support forums. Unless New Zealand addresses are being blocked somehow, there is something wrong with the support@hostgator.com ticketing system. Thanks. |

Received three emails in a row from people who want my site back up asap, and while I have full confidence in the staff at HG, I need to get this site going. Thankyou everyone for your support, and I shall definitely be using that online ticketing system from now on (received a response to the sales email I sent, but when I sent another email back, no ticket.) |
