Slow Day

WOW!! Noticed how slow things were loading today.....for the heck of it I logged into WHM and see server load is 50+.

Think it's time to test support ticket system.

Wow, not only sites slowwwwwww but e-mails are now coming in that were sent over 9 hours ago!!

Just an update........was expecting 2-3 very important business e-mails today. I just received one in which I was to provide them with a quote ASAP.....the e-mail was sent at 11:22 a.m. and I just received it at 8:37 p.m.

I also upgraded my own account this morning in WHM and never paid much attention but I just got the e-mail saying my account was upgraded (was upgraded over 8 hours ago).

Did you submit a ticket? If so, I would check with Live Chat on the status and stress that someone needs to check the server, especially if it is still showing high loads.

Ticket was submitted for both......they got the server load down earlier into the 20's, it's better now but e-mail delays still coming in.

You should check with webmail and see if the mails are in there. If so and they're not coming down to you, it could be a problem with the POP process (webmail is IMAP) or your config.

I did that earlier when I suspected problems but nothing was there......I had been getting e-mails throughout the day with no delays whatsoever. I think it may be a problem with one of the e-mail gateways.

Update on other issue..... server load down from 50+ to around 20. Just checked.

I don't what's going on but since some hours , my shared server gator388 cpu usage is constantly raising. Now it's 7.50 and the memory usage doesn't seem to decrease, now it's 77%!

I mean I know I probably don't have to worry about it, but since I've been here (1 week) the server has been always below 0.90 and memory under 14%. What's happing now to the server?

The server loads can vary widely based on how busy the server is. If you're specifically seeing slow downs let live chat know or file a ticket. Otherwise it's nothing to worry about.

Hi Sandro,

A load of 8 isn't bad at all but within seconds of logging in I was able to track down who was causing the problem. A users spam assassin was using 50% of servers memory and 95% of the cpu causing the load to be this high.

I've ran a patch for spam assassin we currently have in testing stages to fix a bug we found in SA. Please pm me if this problem comes back for you as we might need to kick this user entirely.

Atlan I have no idea what server your on, but if you want to pm me I'll be happy to take a look. We monitor loads 24/7 so chances are someone disabled the person causing the problem which is why the load has gone down.

I know the load was not so high but I was worried about the memory usage, it was clear that something strange was happening to the server.

I feel a little bit better that it wasn't just happening to me.

I couldnt' even log into WHM, after I noticed all my domains timing out.

It's back up.
