Default Skyline webservices

A user was found on skyline using an exploit to redirect or interrupt web traffic on the server. This was disabled and the account suspended.

This interruption would have affected all websites on Skyline and may initially seem to be a suspension. However, this is not the case.

Feel free to notify us if the error occurs again before we discover it ourselves. Skyline will be monitored for some time to ensure quick discovery if a new account is created and the exploit re-installed.

Thanks as always for working with HostGator!

-David

any updates? I have been working on a website all day, and not more than 10 minutes ago did my websites (all of them) start to redirect to toolbarhelper.com ?? what is happening?! there's always something crappy going on with this server... i'm fed up... can i be switched over to a more reliable one? I have WAY too much downtime as well...

In any case, my clients will probably begin to call me shortly... no idea what to tell them. When will this issue be resolved, as it seems it has not been yet, even though this persons account was deactivated....

thanks

well my website www.designelle.com is ok now, but what about all the other sites in my account? i checked designelle.com and it works, and i thought they would all work, but then i tested one, and nothing.. still redirecting :-((

do you have to go site by site to fix this problem???

thanks

All of our sites seem to be working ok. I did notice last night and this morning that the server load was way high (like 19 or 20) and I was in WHM trying to create an account for a new domain that I registered and it was REALLY slow, but other than that everything seems to be ok.

Angelyssa, funny you mention about about downtime and server issues. Other than the little "incident" back at the beginning of March, we have had almost no dowtime at all with our sites and the performance is ususally outstanding (I get 800KB+/sec downloads sometimes, usually around 650KB/sec). I even got my own account on this sever because of that. Your problems might be related to other issues as well perhaps.

<FONT face=Arial><DIV style="MARGIN-LEFT: 30pt">Support,

I am having complaints regarding a virus detected on our server. Below are two messages that I received today and I had several phone calls. Norton anti virus is detecting the virus and blocking users from accessing our clients sites.

SERVER INFO:

Linux skyline.websitewelcome.com

Please advise ASAP….

Hey Pat,

This morning I was having all sorts of wacky issues accessing my site. I thought perhaps the server was just hiccupping . . . but this afternoon, two girls I work with told me that when they were cruising my site, not only did they have problems accessing things, but they also got a virus warning from our Norton Antivirus software.

How would a virus have gotten on my site, and how do I get rid of it?? I'm worried!! HELP!

Leslie Flynn

Pat,

Please check this out and let me know what you find out.

Thanks,
Rebecca

I have to agree with angelyssa, there way too many problems on this server. What would it tale to put all our accounts on a more reliable server?

I'll just be happy if the account that caused this is never allowed back on the server.
