Messages are frozen when they can't be written to /home (which is the partition in question fsck'ing) once it's back up I'll force the queue back through.

So does that mean any mail sent during this downtime will still be delivered? yes or no

I have sent mail from gmail to my account on the skittle server and it says "no such user"

Any mails that bounce with messages such as "No Such User Here" will not be delivered as they will have bounced. The good news is that the senders of those mails will be notified by failure message that they need to re-send any messages during this period of time.

oh man, I understand it's not your fault. But that could really loose me some money. Considering that I am selling a website with awesome hosting then my sites are down and I can't get email. It just looks really bad on me.

Is it just me or does it appear that all of the data is gone? All of the email accounts are gone from cpanels? Will my sites have to be restored from your backup? the same for my email accounts?

Hello,

The websites do not load and your emails will not show up because the /home partition is not mounted. We needed to unmount it in order to run the check. Once the check is done we can mount the partition and all of your data will show up once again.

I understand. How long are we looking at until my service is up and running?

should be getting close to being done... think of it as something similar to a disk defrag in windows... it is not something you can give a time too..

This fsck is still ongoing, we will update this when it finishes.

Update on the file system maintenance. All of my sites on Skittle are down and was told to look here for an update, but there hasn't been an update in 20 hours.

Email support@hostgator.com at this point. Things should have been back to normal with Nate's last post.
