Default Sites down for a short period two days in a row

Some of my sites were down yesterday morning and this morning for about 30 minutes. Not all the sites, but about half. The pages came up totally blank without any error messages or connection problems. Just blank. I can FTP in to see the data is there.

I did a header check on a working site on the server and got this:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Mon, 15 Aug 2005 13:48:18 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.33 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/
1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 PHP/4.3.10
FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_ssl/2.8.22 OpenSSL/0.9.7

Content-Length: 19368
Connection: close
Content-Type: text/html

but on a NON-WORKING site I get this:

HTTP/1.0 200 OK
Connection: Close
Pragma: no-cache
cache-control: no-cache
Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1

Very much different.

Support was quick to respond to my ticket, but simply tells me that they can see the sites just fine.

However, when I can not see them from multiple locations and I get clients calling because their sites are down this certainly is not a good response.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems and do you have any idea why this happens so that next time I can be more precise is explaining the problem to support?

Thanks!

Peridically, my sites become unavailable.

The pages keep trying to load over and over again. Sometimes it works, other times it does not.

HG keeps claiming, it's my PC that's the issue, or "a little issue regarding the HTTPD, but it's under control now." Only difference is that my clients from around the globe is telling me the same thing!

It still does not work properly. This is getting REALLY ridiculous.

I have just posted a thread about this problem on the Mustang Server. I just got a reply from Support that has really pissed me off.

Here is what I had sent to Support via-mail.
OK, I have some information on this problem I'm having.

It is not a contstant problem, rather it comes and and goes. My system is not infected with a virus and I have replicated the problem on different systems in different geographical locations from here to Charleston, SC.

The problem affects all the sites at the same time. When one is unavailable, they are all unavailable. When one works, they all work.

When the problem occurs, the sites get into a a continuous refresh loop.

Could the httpd.conf file have an error on it? What was the last configuration change to the server?

I appreciate your help on this matter.

Thanks
Dennis Elliott

This is the reply I got back about 5 minutes later:

No matter how I look at it. It looks like you're having a local
issue...

Thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Warm Regards,

L.Foster

This is not what I'm paying for. I consider this a very flippant reply to a real problem that I and apparently others here are having.

Now, I'm not getting emails anymore!

The CPU load is now 46.85 (4 cpus).

What the heck is going on over there?

I've been having connection problems all morning on all my hosted domains. Sometimes I get nothing, some times http works but no email. Sometimes it's slow but loads, etc....

Right now I can't get http, ftp, or email at 2:01pm CT.

Just wanted to add in that I'm experiencing the *exact* same problem as the original poster, ie: my main domain (and any add-on domains hosted within it) randomly get loaded as a blank page.

Support has been completely useless, all they say repeatedly is that the sites load fine for them.

Well.. that's great.. but for all my clients who are located in different cities, using different ISPs, all using different browsers, running on different OSes, my domains regularily and randomly load blank!

So there's obviously a problem. I'll be posting a detailed thread here shortly about the issue, as well as on webhostingtalk.com so potentially future people in need of hosting will recognize the "type" of professionalism they can expect here in advance.

I feel ripped off.

My site seems to be down as well. Been an hour now. I can ping it fine and stuff, just says connection refused when the browser tries to connect.
