Default Sitebulider/ Banners and text

I understand sitebuilder is strange.....but I don't really want to do my site all over again. I want to be able to place a few small banners next to text on a page, and the banner scripts are taking up the whole line and pushing my text around. Should I try putting tables in the page first and then inserting the text and banners? The Plesk manual does not go into detail enough on formatting . Is Kompozer or Wordpress, as easy as Site Builder? Just dont have time for learning html yet....

Thanks !

Both are easier--WordPress sounds perfect for you.

Even wordpress will have a learning curve. Its not for creating web pages exactly. Its a Blog app that can function as a CMS (Content Management System) So, you may have to start learning about themes, pages vs. posts, and a number of other things unrelated to creating/editing a page. And depending on what exactly you want with the banners you may need to know PHP, CSS or editing the Theme.
If its static pages you may in fact be beter off with sitebuilder.....

BUT SITEBUILDER SITES AREN'T STATIC!

People have got to stop confusing 'static' site construction with 'static' site content.

Sitebuilder is a proprietary application that makes its pages by using info from variables you type in. That's why formating is difficult, quirky, can't handle a lot of stuff pulled from other sites or any form of e-commerce, and it's why you can't take those pages with you if and when you leave HG.

Please, please, read this thread:

Site studio/builder alternatives even novices can use

Ouch!! (ears ringing) Should have said static content. If they already have pages then sometimes its better to just get to fix the issue then start up with something new and totally different even something "fairly easy" like Wordpress.
Just read the Wordpress forums......

The problem here is that it sounds like she'll spend so much time futzing with Sitebuider to achieve anything vaguely resembling the changes she wants, and probably not exactly what she had in mind, she could have had a solid start in something more versatile, applicable to the rest of the internet--in all senses of the word, and easier to use.

Ask anybody who's spend a whole evening trying to get the amount of space between paragraphs in Sitebuilder to look the way s/he wants.

I have already spent way too much time trying to get Sitebuilder to look somewhat like I planned. Days on what should have been hours...
I saved all my content on my pc, I know it wil be lost if I cancel Sitebuilder. I do have problems with the whole file manager thing(understanding it ) , and thats why I haven't changed yet. HG already had to fix a couple things I have messed up, ( I have an add on domain also).
I started reading the basic beginner course for Wordpress... Im going to do the same for KomPozer, and see which is easiest for me as far as not having to mess with files so much, and changing codes.
Would you all care to give me some more comparisons between Wordpress and KomPozer? Id sure be grateful, I know its back to the drawing board......but I guess I gotta go ...!

Ms. James,
I have an unrelated question for you since I use Sitebuilder as well. Have you checked to see recently if your site is searchable on Yahoo? Just recently I noticed my site does not come up on the Yahoo search engine. But it comes up fine on Google.
I'm trying ot figure out why my site dropped out of the Yahoo universe.
