Default Site down now

It has been getting progressively slower for the last week, now it is down altogether. I hope HG is addressing both problems

Everytime I complain about performance or downtime, they tell me its the result of someone using their system to SPAM. I wish they would provide a non-email server. I use the same server as you, audi

No Scott

I find it hard to believe it would be due to spamming. I use my website email to send out some emails, but if I send more then 10 in a 5 minute period they shut me down pretty quickly.

It seems the DB might be overtaxed at this point as i notice the .html comes up fairly quickly but the .php is really slow

You huys ever notice if the server is slow or laggy, the CPU use is over 75% and in the red? Who the hell is hammering the server? I've had issues in the last 2 weeks or so, I'm in Australia and usually we avoid all the US network congestion during the US work day, and have the server to ourselves on the flipside. However, downside is we always get maintenance in our morning to lunch times...But this thing where the server gets hammered and it slows or stops is very annoying, and we seems to get it happen at verying times....And when things slow down, the first thing to stop is the emails. Clients get unhappy very quickly....
Any ideas, I suppose this current downtime may fix things?

I call HG 5 minutes ago and they said a hard drive is being swapped. He didn't have a clue how long it would take. Haven't they ever done this before? We should have all been notified so that we don't get tons of e-mails from our customers asking us why it's down. If we want to look professional to our customers they have to be professional to theirs. Come on customer service, kick it in the rear.

You mean to tell me these are not mirrored rack mount drive bays you simply plug drives in and out of.

I would find it hard to beleive anyone in this business would not be using equipment that has been the standard for the last 10 years!!!!!!!!!!!
