Default Should I change my hosting over to host gater?

I just started a website on Webs and was just wondering if I should cancel there and move to this hosting service? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated? Thanks in advance for any help!

Since everyone in this forum is either a customer or an employee of Hostgator, we are all going to say "Yes."

Do you have any *specific* questions we can address?

Just wondering if host gator had more or better features, more user friendly, more traffic and so on.

More than what? Assuming Webs refers to a free website service then yes, HG has many more features available. That would be true of any major hosting company. You would also likely have better performance if the site attracts much traffic.

I would not expect HG to be more user friendly than a free service. Sites created on a free host, however, are often built using proprietary software and it is difficult or impossible to move the site to another host should you outgrow the service there.

I would not recommend moving to HG or any paid host if you are not willing to spend some time learning. If you just need a simple page and want something easy then I would stay with the free service and try it out for a while to see if it meets your needs.

Good morning,

I would have to say yes, but I do have a biased opinion . We do have a 45 day money back guarantee on all our Shared accounts. Also all of our features and a demo of our control panel is on our home page. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask. Our members and our employees all read this section so you should get an answer very quickly.

Thanks but I would switch over in a flash but I have my site built with Webs which took me a while to do as this is my first time doing this and starting over here is too much for me to do at the time. I am only learning as I am going and it took me a month to do the same as someone with experience would do in an hour LOL.

Well, you're going to get a LOT more help here than in any other forum I've ever seen - and on every conceivable topic.

What's the name of your website?
Can you make a copy of all your files so you can just copy them here? (You may not need to "start over")

How would I do that?

My website is www.howtobuildplansdotcom

If someone could help me do this I think I would make the change!

There is "no" help over there like here so far, seems as they ignore others there.

lol +1 for hostgator. That's the nice thing too about HG is that the support is phenomenal, so the new guy might have a few 2am sessions with HG chat getting things sorted out - that's what they're there for.

Awesome! Welcome to the HG family.

Now all you have to do is move your files over and change your DNS settings and you'll be all set.

Tagging on to what PPYNE said, I think you'll find HostGator's chat feature very helpful. Chat sessions with HG reps have been very helpful to me when I first started and throughout my experience as their customer on various topics. If it's not something that they can help you with, or is outside of their service, they may still be able to direct you to the right references.

I concur with the other peoples' opinion. I have had hosting accounts at too many to mention other hosting companies. Recently I had the opportunity to tour the Host Gator offices. I can tell you without any hesitation that moving to hostgator will be the best decision you can make.

I noticed that your website has a wordpress option that you are using. I know that the support personnel are trained specificially in wordpress, since that is one of the most popular options that is used by hostgator clients.

The other options, the in house billing system, the on location in Austin and Houston american based tech support, by ticket, email and Chat are worth every dime.

Besides they have a 45 day money back policy if you don't agree with the opinions of the people who have responded to your post.

And get this, they will transfer over your site from your current host, for free!
