I was just looking at the shared hosting plans
Hatchling $4.95 ----------$7.95----------- $12.95 350,000mb -------600,000mb ------1,000,000mb 350gb -----------600gb -----------1,000gb 3,000,000mb-------6,000,000mb---- UNLIMITED 3,000gb------------ 600gb Then theres the dedicated ? $174.00---------- $219.00-------- $279.00-------- $374.00 80GB ------------250GB----------- 2X80--------- 2X 250GB Sata-------------Sata------------- Sata---------- Sata II OK you get sata drives and nice processor very nice actually. A hatchling plan that offer more space and bandwidth, than the top dedicated plan? $4.95 vs $374.00 I'm asking this because I've just signed up for the Standard server plan at $219.00 which I think is a pretty good plan. Actually I think all the dedicated palns are pretty good. Can't get my head around the shared plans though is this a typo? Cheers KC

Dedicated server: Only your accounts on it, root access.
Shared account: 400+ accounts on it |

Yep 400 +
1000 GB by 400 = 400.000 GB Very big hard drive(s) Bandwidth 600GB X 400 = 240.000 GB Massive Bandwidth 12.95 X 400 = $5180 Gross Less the cost of running huge servers with mega pipelines. Net = ? If I want to use my server for shared hosting how can I compete with this if the Basic plan is better than my standard server plan can handle ? |

With your dedicated you have no limits for processor power -- which is a huge limiting factor on shared sites. You could have a forum with 2000 users online at once for example -- something you could never do with shared.
Basically, you can't compete with HG on space/bandwidth. You should really provide some type of value added service (ie full website design with hosting) or some type of nice hosting. There are many threads around here about this, try searching for them for more discussion. |

True I was thinking of supplying a good shopping cart that is simple to use and looks good, not osCommerce.
Nice but fiddly for most people. With addon support. Journals etc...! I give to the WSPA and Christies Hospital. So I was hoping to give 50 cent of every clients monthly fees to the charities. My mum has Cancer of the Lymphoma so its important to me. Cheers Christies Hospital you doing great. Plus WSPA World Society for protection of Animals. If I get 200 clients x 2.99 = 598 Gross less 50 cent 200 x 2.49 = 498 to run server, upgrade plus any other costs. My basic charges $498 - 219 = 279 Gives me $100 to donate from one server! WHMCS all the way. I have used Ap but I really hated it. But if your looking for a straight to the point software use AP. Ap doesnt have all the fancy tools but It gets the job done.

WHMCS is by far superior over WHMAP. I promptly switched to CS once HG got the free plan.

Depending on what type of clients you have, HG may require that you have a reseller plan, not simple shared hosting.
