Hi!
First off, I apologize for the inconveniences and the frustrations. I know how frustrating issues like these can be. I have fixed the Shared SSL on this server. Would you mind checking it for me? I think I have also tracked down the issue causing the problems with it being overwritten, so this shouldn't happen again. Also, I edited your first post, to remove the domain name from the quotes.

I apologize that your SSL didn't work as expected. I'm glad that Jacob was able to get that fixed up for you.
On our shared hosting page, we say that Private SSL is "allowed" as opposed to included. The * on the reseller page is to indicate that there is a condition beyond what's listed on that chart and to encourage people to click on that for more details. Do you think that changing it to say "Private SSL Allowed" would make it less misleading? If so, I'll talk to our webmaster about getting that verbiage updated.

Jack,
Glad to hear that your SSL certificate is working well. Do you happen to have the chat ID and/or remember when you had that live chat? I'd like to check into it. I don't think it is cheap tactic as much as it is a space restriction due to of the large the amount of information we need to present on that chart with relatively limited screen real estate. We don't intentionally mislead our customers (that isn't a good long term solution) and things like this frankly involve some trial and error. Our good reputation is largely a result of our commitment to honesty and transparency -- you'll be hard pressed to find a hosting company that's more open and honest than HostGator is. I'll email our webmaster about getting that updated now.
