The index page is ok, but all other web is error 404. Can you help me?

First some questions.

1) Is your Joomla installed in your "public_html" directory or in a sub-directory of the "public_html" ? if your Joomla is installed in a sub-directory of "public_html" you will need to change this line in the htaccess like this:

# RewriteBase /
change to read
RewriteBase /your_sub-directory

If it's not in a sub-directory leave this line alone

2) Did you rename the file htaccess.txt to .htaccess (note the "." before the file name)

In sh404sef> sh404SEF Configuration> click the "Advanced" tab find Advanced Component Configuration> Rewriting mode and in the drop down select "with .htaccess (mod_rewrite)"

If when clicking on the "sh404SEF Configuration" button you don't see the "Advanced" tab go back to the sh404SEF control panel and click the words "Click here to switch to extended display (with all available parameters)"

Now for the htaccess the one you supplied in your post is not the stock Joomla 1.5x file see the one I have posted below replace yours with the one below.
