I was wondering about a few things regarding reseller and the overall setup:
- Are CP, WHM and ENOM fully integrated? - How are those components integrated on the used domain? - Are WHM and ENOM ready to go, or are there a lot of "fine tuning" needed? - Any plans on adding danish as language for the user CP? |

Hejsan,
WHM creates / modifies / etc cpanel accounts. Cpanel is where the domain user (your customer) edit's various hosting settings, email, etc. ENOM is not integrated with these. You can use WHMCS to integrate WHM and an ENOM account. Quote:
Try asking that on the cpanel forum. They control / make the software. The closest is probably Svenska. You can try out demos of WHM and Cpanel by going to the links on the following page. http://www.hostgator.com/resellers.shtml Hejdå.

So if needed, billing, support, domain buying and customer Cpanel can be fully integrated?
How are these things accessed? If I have the reseller site www.myhost.dk, how are the components made accessible on the site? By the way, does ENOM support .dk domains? |

Doesn't look like it. A quick google search shows that DK Hostmaster is the only registrar. http://www.dk-hostmaster.dk/

Ok thanks, I would like to integrate it with a Joomla. Guess it could be done as a sub domain and a wrapper (?)
The demos doesnt work, I tried some days ago and they are still down. About the .dk domains. I can easily get them at my present and previous host. dk-hostmaster is simply the admin of the .dk topdomain, as I understand it. This would be a major problem, because if I did buy a reseller, access to .dk would be nessecary, as I would target danish users |

About the DK domain:
It seems domain reselling can be done with WHMCS, and the demo (now working) shows that you can select the registrar for each top level domain. I did a random chech with register.com, who supports .dk domains. So now my question is: What can ENOM do, that WHM doesnt do? |

WHM is software on your reseller or dedicated server that allows you to create / modify / terminate cpanel accounts.
ENOM is a domain registrar who sells domains SSL Certificates.

Yes, but it seems to me, domains are also sold through WHM, or am I missing something?

No they are not.
You are possibly confusing WHM with WHMCS. They are different pieces of software.

I had a look at the documentation for WHMCS, and I cant find any need for Enom, if WHMCS are used, as it does support domain re-selling

I would recommend signing up to the forum at whmcs.com. They have a very active forum with huge amounts of information specific to that product.

Just to be clear, we are talking about domain re-selling. Are you saying that it can be done without neither of them?
Thanks for the tip about the forum :-) |

Yes that's correct. I use WHMCS with a different doain registrar and think it works extremely well, but you need to run you business so it works the way you want.

How would it be done without whmcs and Enom? Manually through an account with the registrars?

enom is a domain registrar. there are many registrars and you can use whatever one you like. whmcs is billing/support ticket software. for your convieneice, it is integrated with whm to manage your resellers account and some domain registrars to manage domain transactions. it doesn't provide the hostin account or domain reseller account, but interacts with them.
if you use whmcs (billing/support software), you can integrate enom or several other registrars interface directly into that interface via module, and therefore automate some tasks, like reminding customers of upcoming renewals or renewing a domain when a customer pays. you can do all this manually at whatever registrar you want, too. it would really behoove you to take some time and the docs over at whmcs. without a basic grasp of what the software is for, you will likely have a very challenging time trying to set it up and use it. striddy-kudos on the very clear and helpful input!

Hi
Yes I know the importance of looking into demos and documentation, like I said: "I had a look at the documentation for WHMCS, and I cant find any need for Enom, if WHMCS are used, as it does support domain re-selling". The answer I was looking for, was a simple "true" or "not true", but instead I got confused when striddy said neither was needed. Anyway, I take your answers as a "true" :-) |

WHMCS supports domain reselling, but it needs to *integrate with a domain registrar to do that*. You can't use WHMCS without access to a registrar's API. Enom is a popular choice. But you will need to choose one to use WHMCS to automatically sell domains.
