Hi

I will say in general I have had very good service with "Host Gator"

Today I find that part of my account that I could run my "Top Sites" program has been disabled with out any contact from Host Gator
I know it not just me but there is group of users in the same boat
all with there Top Sites now disabled with out any contact

While I do understand your position, please understand the other side of the coin. Although contacting every customer when our terms of service changes is an ideal situation, there will always be a large percentage of customers that don't care and prefer not to get a call or email, simply because it doesn't affect them. The logistics of doing so (short of a "mass mailing" which most people seriously dislike) can be interesting as well.

The reason we prohibited TopSites on shared servers is because those specific sites were causing CPU issues and overloading. It hurt performance for everyone else, so after evaluating the situation, the addition was necessary.

Instead of silently updating our terms of service, we DO post about it in the General Announcement forums, and specifically mention what is new and updated, so people don't have to go comparing versions to find the changes. We feel that is a good faith effort to inform our customers of any changes to our terms of service without quietly sweeping them under the rug. If you have other ideas, I am open to hearing them.

I've explained why it was done and been very open about the process the entire time. Although I understand your position, and your desire to run TopSites on the shared servers, it's just not possible. Thanks for understanding.
