Being COMPLETELY new to having my own site, I was clueless when I started searching. I didn't even understand the difference between purchasing and hosting a domain. Yes, I'm serious. Host Gator was the only site I could read without feeling like a complete idiot, so I went ahead and purchased my domain and hosting package. A little bit of trouble in the beginning with logging in, but it turns out that was totally MY fault, yet the HG employees pointed that out gently and explained what I was doing wrong.

After a few months of ZERO downtime, I decided to upgrade from Hatchling to Baby, as I wanted to add a second domain. Wasn't sure where to look for the info on how to do it, so clicked on the "live chat support". I had a rep respond to me in under 15 seconds, and he was able to 100% answer my questions (which probably sounded like a 3rd grader wrote them), without seeming condescending, and able to point me in the right direction. All interactions have been courteous and informative. I've done some searching and found companies that would charge me a dollar or two less per month, but am NOT willing to give up the guarantees and amazing customer service I get from HG.

With as little knowledge as I have about the whole web admin process, HG manages to keep me from screwing things up... no matter what I do. Trust me, that's a major accomplishment.
