Default Server Trouble

I am talking about the subject on the ticket: LBI-5525708

My web site got suspended for many times because of the Botnet attacks. Everytime my site got attacked you have suspended my account, again and again. I have wrote many codes including Captcha and PHP Flood Protection. Of course they are not enogh against strong Botnet attacks.

Yesterday, again my website got suspended because of a Botnet attack... As a user I have nothing to do against attacks.

They told me to buy a dedicated IP to place me on Cisco guard. And I have asked:
- "Will my ip always be on a Cisco guard?, If yes I will buy it" and they exactly said:
- "If you request it always be on guard, yes, we can enable guard for that IP permanently."

This morning I bought dedicated IP for 31 months. And after I have bought it they said "we will not be able to have our datacenter add you to cisco guard permanently."

This is enough. I am having problems with you for months. You are always suspending my account when it is getting attack and also the things you say are not reliable.

The lines above shows the top 10 requests in the last 700000 lines of the apache log.

The funny thing is that one of your admins says "... it appears that all of the access are directed to one file. It does not appear that this traffic is unwanted."

I can not believe that on HostGator that is how easy accusing users and suspending their accounts.

After I have told these I think that some of the admins' heart got broken and they are trying to find illegal contents on my sites to suspend my account. Most of the admins really and really do not know server administration, server security and they behave like a child.

I have paid for the dedicated IP as they said permanent cisco protection. And they did not added. My site is still under attack. Look at these stats after the protection. I really want my dedicated IP money back.

Unfortunately due to the excessive intensity of the attacks on this site, even with a dedicated IP and our datacenter's Cisco Guard applied, it does not appear that this is going to be a suitable amount of mitigation for the amount of malicious traffic you are receiving.

At this time we've attempted all reasonable mitigation techniques, and the simply does not appear to be something that we're going to be able to continue to host on a reseller or shared account due to this. We can get you your dedicated IP invoice returned but attacks which are completely outside the scope of our control at this level are only something we can attempt to help mitigate against. In this case this doesn't appear to be something that we are going to continue to host due to the ongoing nature and strength of these attacks, and this will at the very least require a dedicated server from everything I can see. Please update your ticket with us on how you would like to proceed (if you'd like to go ahead with getting a refund for the dedicated IP's) as it appears we've attempted to perform all the possible mitigation that we can for this domain.

I can understand. If you are really trying to block them and if the dedicated IP is helping you to protect the server and my sites no I do not want a refund. The only thing I want, please do not suspend my account on these attacks again.

This thread is being moved since this isn't a problem with hostgator is a problem with your site being the target of constant attacks that are bringing the entire server down.

You have two options....

1. Purchase a dedicated server so the attacks will not affect any other customers.

2. Cancel your shared hosting account with us. Please let me know what you would like to do.
