Default Server Status Page

Hi,

Seems like the server status page is down ...

http://www.hostgator.com/s/

And is there a new url to monitor, without having to login to the cpanel?

Thanks!
clarence

Looks like they exceeded their connection limit and support turned off their database...

Hi,

It's even redirected to the home page of Hostgator. I have a php script where I can put servers on my site to see if it's working. I had one but I can't install to check my own server on the same server of the code hahaha!

I know that there is the cPanel status in it so I'Il let you know. If someone can provide me with an IP address of thei server I can check it out to make some test.

Hi again,

I have found the script but need to setup the files properly to make it work but you can take a look at it at https://www.jbwseries.com/redirection/click.php?id=10

I will try to make it work properly in hours to come. I got some issues with the cron job on it.

So if someone can send me their IP with the server name so I can test it out. Don't forget that I need a server with cPanel

Cool Re: Server Status Page

Uptime is not working at this time because the server can't communicate thru those ports(for cPanel-2083, POP3-110 and DNS-53) because of firewall rules.

It's just a testing script at this moment. I am waiting for a confirmation of firewalls rules and if it's true, I will put the script on a server that have those open port that we need. So guys with server having those port open, you can PM me so we can possibly make arrangment for my script(If you like to have server status ).

The script is 23 kb, need's 1 db with two tables an 1 cron jobs. So If you have those firewalls port open and are ready to make a small place for a script, let me know by PM.

The script has a licence to it so I can't give it away or share it.

Exclamation Server Status Page

Hi,

I have disable the script on my website for server uptime so don't ask me if my website is down. The script seems to be too hard on the server because of cron jobs.

This script needs to be place on a dedicated server that you have control on it.

I have made server crash and I would like to appologize to users on the server and to Hostgator.

Smile Server Status Page

It seems that it's what they have found to put the server down but I'm not sure about that, they have just told me that I have to change to a dedicated server or they will kick me out...

A word for serious reseller. Don't take the reseller hosting. Go with dedicated

I will post again for sure on this situation with reseller hosting.

I've said that myself. A reseller can't be a "serious reseller" if they are using a reseller account and not a dedicated server. Reseller accounts are like training wheels for resellers. Once they can actually resell, they need to drop the training wheels and go with a dedicated server.

Reseller account are great for people who need to resell maybe 10 or so accounts, but once that a reseller hits 20, they can afford a dedicated server and should move to one.

A dedicated server has so much more power than a reseller box and the added access means things run a lot smoother. It is really worth it.

I really get a kick out of resellers that complain about their reseller account going belly up for one reason or another and they spout something like, "My business depends on my <insert ultra cheap $30.00 a month> reseller account. HostGator is screwing my business over with downtime. I need to have 100% up time from my <insert ultra cheap $30.00 a month> reseller account or my business will go out of business"..... yep....

Smile Re: Server Status Page

I've should have read more post from you Serra. I could have save this situation and not be rush to a dedi.

I was already at 39 accounts and still going up on number of clients. That's a fairly good reason to kick me to a dedicated . Nobody at hostgator told me those two word in support chat - kick you. I'm using it because they are right about my account.

It's mainly my website that I resell on that is taking too much on the machine. I have two whmAP because I got one in english and one in french. I will be launcing the french part soon. I had two cerberus support center as well in both languages but I have deleted one to help the server bread a bit.

So dedi is the best for us I think.

In my case Serra, I don't only have <insert ultra cheap $34.99 a month> reseller account to pay. I have the 1-877 number, company registration, cell phone, support on website thru email, live support, staff, programmers to pay.. so yes my reseller plan is 30% of my paycheck and I do pay my programmers with money I make from selling hosting solution and part is going to pay my home(that's quite cool). So yes I can go out of business if I loose clients that have acquire since my start and my home!

I agree, the cost of hosting may not even be your biggest expense, but I found that I was spending more money each month on watching and fixing problems with the reseller account than a dedicated box would cost. Yes, the bottom line is different because I was paying $34.99 for resellering account and 400% more for a dedicated box, but the amount of time that I saved not having to deal with reseller account issues was much, much more. Add to that the security and control I now have and the dedicated box is far better.

Yes it is quite fun to have a box not blacklisted too from time to time!

I was wondering if there is a upgrade for the 100 mbps switch and at what cost on dedi, any idea?
