My site is on Gator2, and the global PHP mime type includes the standard .php, .php3, .php4, and .phtml, but it no longer includes .html files as standard, as it had on the previous server.
I have used the .htaccess addtype to add this back for the time being, however I have also contacted Gator Support by email about this, and i've been speaking to Lyron for the past few hours. I was informed that .html files are not included in the PHP mime type as standard, which I found odd considering the fact that they have been for the past 14 months that I have been with HostGator. About nine months ago I had a similar problem with the .html extension being removed from the PHP mime type, and at that time I was told - in complete contradiction of what Lyron told me a few hours ago - that it was simply an oversight that .html files had not been added back following an upgrade of server software. I don't mind using the .htaccess addtype, however i'd appreciate knowing whether .html files are in fact no longer included under the PHP mime type as standard, or whether this will be added back as soon as the datacenter has the opportunity to do so. Thanks. |

Erm... what migration? I believe we're on gator3 and I've been seeing some glitches over the last week or so, including posts going missing from a vbulletin, directorys and thumbnails vanishing from a photopost. I don't recall seeing any email concerning a "migration". To what does this refer and could this be connected to the above glitches?

Zenith, all sites requiring migration have already been migrated.
The migration process involved moving all domains from server A to server B in the new data center. It stands to reason that you may be missing any files that were added during the migration, but you should be able to retrieve those by connecting to your old IP via ftp. If you need help with this, or have additional questions, please submit an email to support@hostgator.com and be sure to include all of your account info (domain, user, password) so our techs can be of further help. Thanks. |
