Does the control panel have any tools for you to analyze you server load aside from bandwidth and disk space used? I don't have an extra PC at home that I can install Apache on to test out my scripts.

No way to really tell with reseller access. HG has access that can see it, but the reports really give away too much information on a shared server. HG's policy is not too strick, your script really has to suck to be flagged.

My current provider's (Canaca.com) terms state they will lop off your head if you reach 10% resources on a server. I haven't ever heard from them so I guess I'm okay. Been with them since June 2004. Still, it would be nice to have a way to evaluate your scripts activity. Plus resource intensive scripts means a slow response to the user.

Again, at the reseller level, there is no way to tell. You would need shell access or the cpanel reports to tell and you don't get those as a reseller.

Nice to see that HostGator has such a huge fan base. Seeing the forum here is reassuring.

The thing that sold me was the bad stuff. Its fairly clear they don't moderate the forum...

EDIT: Will I see a big difference between the Hatchling, Baby, and Swamp accounts? (Be honest) I doubt I'll ever use the bandwidth even in a Hatchling account.

Just size. Start with a smaller plan that fits your needs and build up as you need more space/bandwidth.
