I have had hosting for a few days and I have contacted support numerous times about the server load spikes that keep occurring everyday. I have attached the images of the load graph. The server goes through this several times a day and slows things way down. Anyway support only tells me that they are monitoring the server. I do know for a server to constantly spike it is overloaded with websites (oversold).
This needs to be remedied.. That is all I want. I want to have consistent speeds on my website, after all that is what I am paying for. The ip to the server is: 74.52.60.2 Can someone please fix this? |

This forum is a peer support forum. The best option for an issue such as this is to contact support immediately through a ticket to document the problem and the time it occurred and to contact Live Chat so that someone can look at the server quickly. This can help support to be able to find the problem. It is a lot tougher once the loads go back down. |

I have contacted support. I get the same answer with no resolution. That is why I posted here. I will try support again when it spikes.
Thank you, Robin |

I also ran an reverse ip to see how many sites are hosted in the server and it shows 277, is this normal?
Thank you, Robin |

Reverse IP: 812 other sites hosted on this server. But that number doesn't mean that there are 812 accounts on it, it means there are 812 domains on it, many accounts will have a few parked domains on them. So there will probably only be about 400 accounts on the server which is normal for a powerful server |

If you go to: myipneighbors.com it will tell the exact sites on the server. which there are 277 of them.

Just chatted with support when the load spikes were going over 44. They are taking care of it.

You can however ask support to look into the issue of who or what is causing the overloaded condition. While HG is very proactive of finding these problems and taking care of them, you should be aware that if you do not wish to experience these problems, you will need a dedicated server so slow downs and loads will not be dependent on others

I'll stay on top of this. You may ask for me via phone if you see this issue again, or ask someone in livechat to message me directly on the issue (assuming I somehow miss the server warning). Thanks.
I'd like to change the icon for this thread to something neutral anyway, if that's OK with you. I realize things do happen sometimes, but we're doing what we can. Thanks for understanding. |

Just as an FYI, the amount of domains on a server has nothing to do with the amount of accounts on the server. One person with one account can park hundreds of domains if they want to. And one website, poorly coded and/or slammed with traffic, can cause far more loads than 500 websites with only static content.
