Over the last couple of days ive noticed the server load on Lebaron has exceeded 50% with the memory used at 54% too. This seems to be resulting in my websites becoming very slow. Can something be done please?
PS. Loving the new croc smilies

Yeh but the server load isnt a % (memory is) the serverload can get to about 200 before a server crashes on a powerfull server

Jay did a great job in overhauling the entire collection...
Now that the smoke has cleared, I'd have to rank them right up there with the best.

About the memory use, 50 to 60 % is completely normal under linux. Linux reserves a lot of memory and manage this memory for his own uses.
In WHM this piece of memory is include in the "Used". (But is not really used, partially only reserved for linux uses) Whats more alarming is a high swap use over a long period (Days) or growing over 50%. About processes: That number id the average of the jobs in queue for the last 5 minutes by HG. http://www.lifeaftercoffee.com/2006/...ges-explained/ Comings on also of how many cpus the server have. normally you see load xx.xx (x CPUS) An occasionally peak of 20/cpu is not a big deal. Permanently around 20 drop a ticket just in case. I saw 120/4 on my server (Shared) with just a slow-down. |

Willow,
Don't let the server load numbers bother you. The server load could be 1 or 10000, but the real question is, "How does your site load?". If its loading ok, it doesn't matter what the load is. If it seems slower than normal, then the low is too high, even if its at 2. |

Willow, the signature in your post produces an error because http:/forums.hostgator is before your own domain URL.
