If a service on your server ever goes down please open a ticket first. When you have any and or all the information on the outage please post it in here to help keep the rest of the community informed.

Services include apache, mysql, email, ftp, and a few other fancy named ones.

We have a TON of servers thus a TON of problems. Most problems are isolated to a single box / Incident, and last only a few minutes before we have it fixed. If there is ever a major outage (server being down around a hour or more) we will post a thread dedicated to that issue. This thread is to help those get answers to outages that only last a few minutes / don't warrant us making major announcement. There is no point reading this entire thread since your outage would be recent and would be one of the very last posts.

Please post your servers ip in every post, and only comment on issues related to the server your site is home to.

http isn't working but ftp and pop are???????

The site monitoring service I use says that ftp is down as well, but I'm having no problems with ftp.

At a friend's place and can't call long distance... really getting frustrated. It's been down over 8 hours now.

Did you generate a mysql user in cpanel and add that user to the database? You have to do that first, or you won't have a user or password able to connect to the db.

I knew that.

I was citing an error I would get on Cpanel, it wouldn't do anything related to MySQL so therefore I couldn't create accounts.

I'm a fairly new subscriber to gator. After INVISION went down for a bit, i thought it had screwed up, so i installed PHPBB...

Well, it was working good, then i got this error:

I don't know why it's doing this, considering it creates the SQL database user name and pass for you upon auto install.

I haven't messed with anything complex.. Just the normal posting and replying on the board.

ANy ideas?

Well yea, it works cause I reinstalled it for the third time, lol.

It's just a matter of time before I get the error again... I hope I won't get it, but the fear lingers inside me. I really hope it doesn't happen when I promote the site, because the board will be getting alot of traffic... Not to mention, the board IS my website 8)

But yea, if you know what the problem is or how to fix it... Lemme know.

we are currently on one of your dedicated servers, Majolo.com. Our server has been down now for the last three hours. I was just wondering if there had been any new developments or if anyone could let me know rougly how long it will be untill we are up and running again. All our sites are currnetly down and we also have no ftp or mail access.....

Your Vlan get messed up took a hour for datacenter to fix it once we called in. Thanks!

Reported this problem 8am eastern to phone support. All html sites available on 69.93.47.98 but cannot ftp. Are we being blocked by ISP or virus? Gator support is getting reports of this issue. Are you having problems. Any comments appreciated....bob

I've been having trouble with http access to 69.93.59.34 (www.theenlightened.org) as well. Seems to have gone down nearly every morning this week for brief periods of time but it's been up/down several times this morning.

I believe they are re-starting Apache. Outages such as this are generally fixed within a few minutes, so please bear with us.
