More accurately, seems that some IP addresses are firewalled from the server. We are having problems with our offices in Barbados being unable to access the server but our Toronto offices are fine with this server.
According to tech support, the cause is a DOS that resulted in blocks of IP addresses being locked out. Supposedly being unlocked right now, am waiting to hear back from support@hostgator.com on this. I made a suggestion to the tech people that future outages be posted somewhere in a network status area so that we can see what's happening - we spent about 5 man-hours trying to establish that the problem was outside of our offices before we realized that the addresses were firewalled. |

The server you are on is called hummer.websitewelcome.com This is the worst problem we have ever dealt with since we started hosting....... Reason being there really is no fix other then time itself.
It's not exactly a dos it's legit traffic making it close to impossible to stop. We were hosting some Japanese news site that went from no traffic to 30 million + hits a day instantly. It's as if the entire Asian world is going to his site. Of course we gave him the boot to save the server, but all the requests are still flooding our server even with him gone. So many requests are flooding it the server has been up and down non stop since last night when we first began blocking traffic. Think of it like a big gas tanker trying to fill a 20 gallon car with all its gas. Once 20 gallons is filled it's not going to hurt the car if you keep filling. The gas is just going to go to the floor but the car will be fine, and in perfect running condition. The server is getting so many apache page requests the traffic is over flowing making most people not be able to get inside the tank. The server is fine and running perfectly just so many people trying to get in apache is going up and down from being over filled. We have contacted the site earlier today, and made them change their name servers to point elsewhere so that our server doesn't keep receiving their requests. So this will clear up just not a 100% till dns is done for most of the Asian world which could be by the time we all wake tomorrow. Thank's for your patience.

BTW we didn't know any legit traffic would of been affected from our blocks since they mainly focused on the entire country of Korea.
