So there are three webmail programs, NeoMail, Horde, and SquirrelMail. But I'm worried that they all transmit username/password as well as e-mail messages in cleartext.
If I get the swamp plan (with private SSL), is there a way to add SSL to one of these webmail programs? Here is an example of a site that does: acs-webmail.ucsd.edu Everything is with SSL until user logs out. Appreciate any input. |

With a PRIVATE SSL you can do everything encrypted. This can also be done with a shared SSL, but the user will be harassed by the "Certificate doesn't match: warning message constantly.
Just make sure that you include an icon/link for the customer that access webmail using https. |
