I've noticed recently when I submit a ticket that it is not a secure connection. Considering that I often need to provide the password for root access on my server, shouldn't that be secure?

Looks like you can enter the Help Desk securely at https://support.hostgator.com.

Once you actually want to submit the ticket it keeps redirecting you to the unsecure page, though. And I have a feeling that even if you could get to the submit form in a secure way, the actual post to the form will still be unencrypted.

The page with the form does not need to be secure, only the post url because it the only time the information is sent to the server. Many bank have a log-in on their homepage but they post to a secure url.
Other hosting companies I have used in the past had their ticket system secured (same ticket system as Hostgator). I question why Hostgator has not done the same?

Could a HostGator staff member please provide their input on this thread? Thank you.
