You could try:

https://Your_IP/cpanel

You can find your IP in cPanel x3 in the left panel under: Shared Ip Address.

Best Regards,

It's nice to be able to set cpanel and webmail in the root WHM to always secure

So how did you do that? Where do you change the root WHM to always Secure? Also why isn't it that way in the first place?

If you have a dedicated server, it's in WHM-->Tweak Settings-->"Always redirect users to the ssl/tls ports when visiting /cpanel, /webmail, etc."

Whenever I try to connect securely, even when using the IP, I get a notice from Firefox stating the connection isn't secure:

Quote:
This Connection is Untrusted
You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to www.sitename.com:2083, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.
I scroll down to the bottom and select "I understand the risks." Then it takes me to a page to "add an exception." If I click on that, I get another page telling me:

Quote:
This site attempts to identify itself with invalid information.
Certificate belongs to a different site which could indicate identity theft.
The certificate shows "websitewelcome.com". I realize this is okay, but as someone with a reseller site, I am wondering if there is some way to get around this. This scares new customers.

If i understand your question correctly the only way round this is to buy a ssl for each of your clients domains!

If it is only for your main domain the obviously you would neeed to purchase SSL for that.

There was a topic on the forums ages ago about this, might be worth a search...

Hope that helps.

Purchase a wildcard SSL, but you should have a root cPanel so you only need to use one domain. you can do clients.domain.com:2083

You're welcome to use the free self-signed SSL available through cPanel. It will pop up a message telling you it can't verify the source, but it's still a valid encrypted connection.
