Default Script auto-installer testing

We're working on a cPanel-based script auto-installer similar to (but better than) Fantastico, and it's to the point where we'd like to start testing it in the wild. If you'd like to participate in testing (shared, reseller, dedicated, and vps are all OK), please shoot me a PM check out the beta forum!

Note: This thread has been locked. All QuickInstall discussion can be found on the beta forum.

What is the status of this auto-installer?

I can't get hold of "GatorRSimoes" via PM

No it is not, knowing HG it is going to be better than Softaculous.

In case anyone else is interested, a private forum is up for coordinating testing. Shoot me a PM, and I'll grant you access.

What will the procedure be to add to the list of apps available through the auto-installer? Submit a ticket/request to HG?

Sure, that's fine. I can't guarantee that we'll grant every request, but we'll definitely consider them.

Very happy to see hostgator using Softaculous now. We tried for a couple of years to get our script (phpLD) added to fantastico, and they kept saying "soon", but nothing ever materialized. Fortunately, we are included in Softaculous and already I see some installs from hostgator customers. Thanks hostgator! I hope you will start to roll this out across more servers soon.

I noticed that there is something called "QuickInstall" now in my cpanel, is this the new cpanel auto script installer that is being discussed here?

Thanks
Steve

We are not using Softaculous but rather an in-house installer called "QuickInstall." phpLinkDirectory is indeed included, though.

Correct. We hope you find it useful. You can send any feedback regarding QuickInstall to help@quickinstall.com or by posting on the beta forums, which were just recently opened up.

Thanks,

I plan on trying your QuickInstall later this week. I can imagine a lot of work went into putting this project together ;-)
