Default Scared to Click Adsense?

As an adsense publisher, I have always been very careful not to click my own ads (though have squirmed when I accidentally did it in the past). I think now I have become afraid of clicking on ads, as a result of that terrible feeling I got from clicking my own ad by mistake in the past.

So I think I have been programmed not to click on ANY adsense ad now.
What about you?

And all these "cheats" is what makes adsense virtually useless!

if you click on your own ads, you can be ignored for few attempts but any attempt can lead to your adsense account closure.

They can detect fraudalent clicks very well even if you clicked it via 100 proxies. don't forget you check your gmail from the same computer you are going for those clicks. they have automated scripts comparing the login info with your clicks.

If you want to close your adsense account just click a few times and then login to your adsense account from same computer most likely in a few attempts like this you would be already kicked from adsense no matter how many proxies you use.

I've clicked on my own (on a forum) a few times to see if anything would happen, oh and by accident or testing. I didn't even know there was money in the adsense account until 2 weeks ago (I finally looked after 1 year and )

Until last yr. I had a hosted customer who used to get $100 everyday from adsense, he said thats without any of his own clicks,

he had a very busy site covering most of the topics in arts and literature I suggested him dedicated server but he went to some other provider.

Adsense revenue depends on keywords, certain hosting related keyword can cost upto $35.

my site is a low-carb site, so i get all the diet-related keywords that pay pretty well (at least i think so).

I had my adsense account closed for "fraudulant clicks" or words to that effect even though I never clicked my own ads. I set up a forum once that got hundreds of new members in 1 day because someone mentioned it in a major newspaper. I think the sudden spike in clicks gave the googlebot suspision.
My account was cancelled (just as I hit about $95) and no opportunity to reverse that decision.

I share an adsense acount with a mate now & currently it pays for my reseller account, but you can never rely on income from adsense because google could close it if the robot suspects something fishy and if you write to appeal, you are writing to that same robot..

Yes we had a similar experience which I would never consider using them again. I guess if anyone keeps returning to your site and clicking the ads, they figure it to be fraud. Closure and forfeiture of your earnings with no proof or appeal!

Don't get how others actually cheat the system and get away with it?

I did try a couple of others, oxado & bidvertiser, but the ads were simply not relevant and the income was so little, it wasn't worth having.
I just can't understand why Yahoo & Ask have not made it a priority to get PPC working in the UK when clearly there is so much revenue to be made from it.
