Arrow Sample sites please?

Hello,

I'm deciding on taking either dreamhost or hostgator, dreamhost has a list of sites & their site of the month page. I've been viewing those sites and they look pretty fast & stable enough.

But how about for here? do you have a list of sample hostgator-ed sites I could view? preferably dynamic sites...

Hi,

I'm sure some of our forum regulars will share links to their sites, but until then - you can see some sample sites in this KB entry: http://support.hostgator.com/index.p...leid=7&nav=0,1

I've been with HostGator for over a year on a dedicated server ($174 per month) and I'm extremely happy with it all.

My website is http://www.bluesbrotherscentral.com

I have a moderately busy forum, but the server has handled everything nicely.
If you're familiar with the "Digg Effect" (http://www.digg.com), I've had several pages/sites hosted on my server submitted to Digg over the last 12 months, and each time the server has stood up to the incredible barrage of visitors. The worst that has happened is that Apache has restarted itself (5-10 seconds of downtime).

The staff are helpful and actually know what they're talking about, if you need something done like deleting logfiles from your account they are more than happy to help you. Sometime soon I'll contact them about having my server upgraded to PHP5/MySQL5. All you need to do is send a quick email to their support address (they won't do it via live chat, it has to be an email request), include your root password (if it's a dedicated server) and they will get onto it very quickly. I think I've spoken to 5 different people from their support staff over the last 12 months, and they've all been very knowledgable.

I host 21 domains, but the link above is the most active. I output a lot of stuff using the GD library, as well as AJAX, RSS, REST (XML Requests to Amazon Web Services), and a range of other things that would normally place a heavy load on a server. It handles everything perfectly fine with no trouble.

I have recommended a few people to the shared hosting, and they have all been happy with it, I haven't seen them have any downtime.

I'll also point out that I've been with 6 different hosting companies in the last 5 years, this is the first one I've felt completely comfortable with. Seriously, I'm a serial complainer, and I have had zero reasons to complain about HostGator
