On the 15th of this month, my own site went through the digg effect - a huge surplus in traffic over a short period of time meant my own site ended up using far over 25% of a shared server's resources, and went into suspension.
From then, I dealt with Nate, Cory, Ray and Geoffrey. The three of you were beyond excellent - A dedicated server was set up only five hours after my own site went down, and a "low bandwidth" copy of the digg article in question was available to the 70,000+ visitors I received in the 5 hour "downtime". Cory went through moving my entire site across to the dedicated server, and the transistion from the temporary page back to its original form was without any interruption. And from what I know, he ended up working some overtime until the transition was completed ![]() Both Geoffrey and Ray spoke to me over live chat, and kept me informed of how things were going with the setup of the dedicated server. Nate also came up good by getting the ball rolling on this in the first place. With the current traffic volumes of 30,000+ a day, I've posted up a condensed review on how helpful you were after the digg effect - and linked back to yourselves, highly recommending it for any webmaster, low or high-volume traffic. I hope you see some results from it ![]() All the best, and thanks again! |
