Currently we are experiencing network issues with a number of our shared and reseller servers. Our datacenter is aware of the issue and is working to correct it now. Thank you for your patience while we work to get this resolved. We will update this thread with any new information.

The Planet's D5 datacenter is experiencing a power outage. This is also affecting any dedicated server in that datacenter. We're working closely with The Planet and hope to have more information shortly.

They do in fact have the UPS's, however we have no further information as to what is occurring yet other then that their facilities maintenance technicians are investigating the issue. We will provide an update as soon as we have one available.

Problem with that is the Hampsters only have a 2 year life span and they were installed 3 years ago.

The issue was affecting just Phase 2 of D5. Power has been restored and servers are starting to come back up now. There may be issues with individual servers on startup that will need to be addressed. Thank you for your patience.

So, when do we find out how something like this is even possible with their touted multiple UPS's and generator backups?
Dayjo... I got an email from my third party monitor at 2:35 pm pacific time saying my sites were down. They are now back up at about 3:55 pm. But good luck getting any action from that, they won't accept third party monitors and will cite the fact that the server itself was up (at least that's what the chat support told me, the server was up and running fine) even if you couldn't get to it. |

One of mine was down for 1 hour 17 minutes. The other was fine.
Not bad considering it seems like it's the first downtime I've had since signing up

Doing a traceroute to my site times out on 'theplanet.com'. I have 20+ domains that are down and I haven't received any email since 6 AM Arizona time. That's 10 hours of downtime FOLKS!!! I'm pretty irritated and annoyed by this!!!!!

Just wanted to inject a Big Positive here.
I've been with HG for almost a year and this is the first time I've had cause to check on a problem. Very impressed by being able to get an almost immediate response on Live Chat who also pointed me at this forum. Very very impressed at being kept informed ... you would not believe my experiences with other hosting companies. I agree with everything you are saying, Unfortunatly, My clients do not care about that. They are blowing up my cellphone asking when is their website, which are losing money by the minute going to be back up and running. Soon, my sites will be down for 1 Hour - 45 Min. - And Counting. |

At this time all servers should be back online. If you are still seeing any problems please feel frre to open a ticket with support. In regards to any credits for downtime, please open a ticket with sales and they will be able to assist you further.
@Mike85745, that traceroute is reaching the data center (D6) and is not related to the events in this thread. Please open a ticket with your IP address so that we can see if you are blocked in the server's firewall for some reason. You can obtain your IP from www.hostgator.com/ip.shtml
