Default resellers questions

Hello, A reall newbie to reselling here.
Just signed up today at 5 pm cst and by 5:32 aready able to get to the whm and cpanel...great!
My question is:
On the resellers information page it says to change dns 1st, I would really like to get my site set up here before transfering my domain name.
1. Do I have to create a package for my main site before uploading pages to check them out? (there appears to be one in cpanel already).
Should I do this before the DNS switch?
1b. Do all the packages have to be the same size?
and
I admin a couple of subdomains that I've been hosting on a shared account before getting a resellers site here so i'm guessing I can add them onto the main account till I move them out into their own domain right?
I've read through the 13th. page here today and can't find the answers
Thanks.

Thanks for the response, but that was the page I was reffering to telling me to do the domain name transfer 1st. And I wanted to know if I can move my site for testing first, (as I thought I read somewhere on this forum).

Sure, you can upload your website files and access your pages via your IP address/username.

it should be http://your_ip/~username/ and not http://your_ip/username.
