No you buy from hostgator and billing and collecting is your responsibility. It's not like you are selling hostgator web hosting plans and receive a commision per sale. You sell your own plans.

Maybe Allen means the Referral program http://www.hostgator.com/affiliates.shtml:
"Add value to your Web site and earn commissions by joining the HostGator Affiliate Program. When you direct a visitor from your Web site to hostgator.com and they signup you earn cash! You will get paid the first month of any hosting plan you refer." I've no experience with this so don't know when you get paid. Bye, Stef. |

The affiliate program and the reseller program are 2 entirely different things.
As a reseller, you will essentially become your own private web host - able to charge customers as you see fit. As an affiliate, you would receive a 1-time payment for every account you send our way. If someone signs up with Hostgator using your affiliate link and remains a customer in good standing, then you will receive a 1-time payment based on the chart shown here: www.hostgator.com/affiliates.shtml |
