Default Reseller Cpanel

I am already a member, but I have a question about the reseller account. If I did decide to become a reseller, would my main cpanel allow me maintain all domains I resell, or would each domain have a cpanel in which I would have to go in seperately to maintain?

You would get another cpanel for controlling domains. You old cpanel would be about the same and you would get a new cpanel for each new account you create.

The advantage of reselling is that each account gets its own cpanel.

So, actually, the only real advantage is being allowed to resell space?

I am actually thinking about it now that it has come up here, and maybe I could grow a small business with it. I have a small store, but after 10 years things are doing nothing but going downhill in this area. I am wondering, though, since there are so many webhosts out there, if it would be worth it.

Thanks,
Robin

I started a web site in 2003 as a joke. Local people found it and it worked out. Some of the people who use my site suggested I turn it into a small business to pay for the cost. I did this and also opened a very small online store.
Then some members who were business owners wanted web sites and asked me so I made them web sites.
In no way would I be able to quit my regular job and also dont plan to but in a way its kind of fun and my clients know that I am a very small operation and that was what they were looking for.

I say go for it and always be honest with your clients.

It is actually better than you think. If your problem is you don't want to manually log into control each account by their seperate cpanel, you will get one Main Web Host Manager (WHM), that will be able to control all of your accounts. You can switch between each of your cpanels from there very easily.

Thanks, that was very helpful! Mainly, I am not techy, but I can handle the cpanel just fine. Is there a demo of the WHM here?

No, the real advantage is that each site gets its own cPanel and that each site can have its own IP address and SSL.

That you can't get in a shared account.

WHM isn't much, just a set of tools to manage the different accounts.

Not to just sell hosting. You can't possibly compete with the big or dishonest people. However, if you sell hosting as part of other services, then it can be very profitable. Add some web design or just sell it as part of something else and you can make a lot of money without spending any money to advertise it specifically. As a small business person, you have contact with a lot of people, so you can leverage those contacts into business.

If you go to the resellers page and scroll down to the section that says "Control Panel Demo", you can click on the one that says WHM and use the user and pass that they supply to check out the WHM, it isn't as confusing as it looks and there are alot of people here that can help you if you need it.

Checked out the demo WHM, thanks! I think I could do that I already design websites for many people so maybe I could get a little something going.

I do see that if I go with the Reseller Aluminum plan I get half the diskspace and half the bandwidth as I get now on the shared Swamp Plan. I think 5 GB is plenty of space, but I don't know much about bandwidth except the more the better .

Thanks,
Robin

PS, this forum is a great help!!
