I am considering joining HostGator as a reseller, but I have a client who *must* use Dreamweaver to create and maintain his website.
Question: 1) As a reseller, can I setup a client domain/website to use Dreamweaver as his publishing tool? 2) Any comments about using Dreamweaver as the publishing tool? Will this limit other clients under my reseller account? ie, Does Dreamweaver hog system resources? (storage space, files, bandwidth, etc) 3) How much does additional storage and bandwidth cost for a reseller account? - Or will I be required to upgrade my reseller account to receive additional storage and bandwidth? Thank you for you help, and I am interested in pursing opportunities with HostGator. -Jonathan |

Dreamweaver ... Goive (my favorite) are great apps that produce code that is so much more streamlined and efficient than buggy Front Page. And use much less server space. Just no comparision. Welcome any developers using those with open arms.

I have been using Dreamweaver since 2004 on hostgator servers and never had a problem with it.
Appart using FTP services, this apps is not taking any ressources on the server. It's only on your local machine that It can be pretty heavy if you have a website with more than 100 pages in php loading the database at the same time on your local machine. Dreamweaver can connect to a local database in live mode. It's quite cool so you don't have to test your site on the hostgator server first. I never experience any problem with Dreamweaver and many of my clients has been investing in this programm to make their website. I do have to make support to guide them in connecting dreamweaver to their site but it's about a 10 minutes support issues on our live support. For "hogging" ressources, it only put files you have told dreamweaver to put on the server. It is not putting anything else out on the server. For more bandwidth and more space, there are no additional combination possible. You will have to upgrape to the next plan. If you go over your limit, I think(and I am not sure 100% on this) that hostgator will just push your package to the next one. If you need help on helping your customer just PM me and I will help you thru the process.
