Default reseller and ecommerce question

Hi,

I'm a developer that always worked with sysadmins that handled all the server end of things. Now I want to start selling sites and e-commerce sites. I have a few questions about what I need to have customers purchase for e-commerce.

Reading through the forums I discovered a few things:

1. domain name $10 a year?
2. ssl certificate $72 a year?
3. IP address $24 a year?

We always used Verisign for credit card processing. What do you need to pay for to use these and how much? I guess a bank account to receive the $?

Am I missing anything? What's the total that has to be paid to have everything needed to have a live web store?

Thanks,
jlopez

Other than the hosting it sounds like pretty much everything. Depending on if you will be shipping a product that's something else to look into to.

The prices/payments of the various services vary between where you get them so you would want to check out at least a few to see what they offer for the price...

What do they need to process credit cards and how much does it cost to set up and use?

Unless you have a large customer that is going to do thousands of dollars a month, we recommend PayPal and Google CheckOut to our clients. If they are small, the credit card companies and gateway fees are usually prohibitive.
