I just signed up as a hosting reseller, purchased a small package to start out with to test the waters, and I have a few questions for those who have been in the biz for awhile.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to hosting, bandwidth, webspace, etc., so please bear with me.

I'm currently designing a website for a client which involves a basic static website and a classified ad script. (Okay - got some flash and java mixed in but not anything that oughta be too much of a hog on space or bandwidth at this time).

My client has a number of contacts within the specific industry for her service and expects a larger than average influx of traffic the first month.

The traffic volume of the main promotional website (where she'll be advertsing her services to begin with), receives over 100,000 unique visitors a week. Of course, just because her banner will be on that site doesn't mean she'll be getting that volume of traffic herself -- BUT because the site does not currently advertise any other classified advertising sites/services within this particular industry, she may receive a fairly large volume of hits.

My reseller account has 2,000 mb of webspace and 50,000 mb band.

I have yet to create my hosting packages and am wondering how someone else might split it up?

My thought is, I'd create four packages to start out with...
  • Very small -- at, 50 mb webspace and 1,000 mb band (1 gig)
  • Small -- at, 100 mb webspace and 1,500 mb band (1.5 gig)
  • Medium -- at, 250 mb webspace and 2,000 mb band (2 gig)
  • Large -- (for her site specifically) at, 1,000 mb webspace and 20,000 mb band (20 gigs)
  • And leave myself room to grow with a larger package -- for upgrading her webspace/bandwidth if necessary - and to resell more webhosting.
Does that seem feasible or would YOU create your packages differently? Like I said, I'm really new to this. I'd really appreciate any input anyone cares to share.

Thanks a bunch!
