It seems natural to explore the various options that are available as optional installs to review and assess their suitability. However, there does not appear to be an easy way to remove them once installed or can one jsut deleted the directory that was made on install. I specifically refer to the Advanced Guest Book that I may not wish to utilise.

I'm not sure if I fully understand, you installed a scipt, oh say a CGI Guestbook, and you wish to uninstall it/disable it. To do that, just delet the directory yes, to disable it, CHMOD the dir to 500.

OK - that's fine. I just thought I would check as a previous host insisted that scripts couldn't be removed, except by them. Thanks.

Wait, is this a script installed automatically, or was this a script you installed?

This is the Advanced Guestbook Script installed from the Control Panel and automatically installs when selected. Does that make a difference?

Deleting the directory and it's files will delete the script from the server. I do believe this is currently the only way to remove scripts that are automatically installed by the control panel.

If it's from Cpanel then there's no need to delet it. It shouldn't be taking up any space, and even if it is, the amount of space is so small it's not really anything to worry about.
