Default In Regards to vBulletin Site on Share / Reseller

Only thing that I know of on the downside about HG is thier shared and reseller plans have a 25 continuous click feature. Which for a board with over 600 or more members is bad.
What is this about?

There is a limit to concurrent connections (set to 25.) The connections generally are short and estimates on number of users that can be on at once range from a couple of hundred to 500-600. If you have a forum that has 600 users online at the same time then shared hosting is not going to work with any host, in my opinion, as it would likely use too many resources and be suspended.

I'm only at approx40-50 average online 24/7 (on a vBulletin site)...

Are you saying I don't have to worry about it until 200-300 users online at one time or 500-600 (constantly rate, 24/7)?

Even at 200-300, it sounds like it would give me some time to grow, then I could move/upgrade...

I meant to say, 40-50 online at one time, all the time 24/7 on my board currently but growing at 16% a month.

50 users online at a time for vbulletin is kind of pushing it for shared hosting. Im sure it will work and will most likely be fast (depending on the box you are on) but you might want to consider VPS or Dedicated.

Also are you judging the 50 online a time by the whois online vbulletin supplies? The default for that updates every 15 minutes. So if you are judging it by that you might not really have 50 at a time.

how many members total you have makes no difference, as absent members use no cpu resources. if you have 50 people online at a time, i would still consider you fine for shared hosting.

if it were me, i'd start planning for a dedi as you got to the point you were running maybe closer to 200 + or so online at a time. not 24/7, but top traffic times.

at any point, however, you can contact support and ask them how you're doing with resource usage. but with about 50 people online at a time, i would say you definitely have room to grow.

This is a great example of how information in the wild can get...distorted. Fortunately, your question put the term in some context so the forum members who already posted could figure out what the person you quoted might have meant.

"Continuous click", when not referring to a type of investment fund, is mostly used when programming mouse events.
