Well, I cancelled my service after just a couple of weeks. I followed the cancellation procedure to the letter. Now, according to their refund policy, it is no questions asked and a refund the same day as the cancellation. It has been three days and I have not gotten my refund. I filed a grievance with the BBB in Houston, TX. They are looking into it as of today. I have exact copies of all of the emails I have sent to them asking for my money and I have all of their responses; acknowledging the cancellation but ignoring my request for my refund. I KNOW they will delete this post but this is only the beginning of me letting the WWW know about their lies and deceit. I am posting everywhere there is a review of this company AND I am posting their emails as well as mine for everyone to see. I am filing a complaint with the FTC as well....

Hello John,
I am sorry to hear that you have had trouble receiving your refund. Did you respond to the cancellation ticket asking for a refund? If you provide me with your ticket ID I would be more than happy to look further into this matter for you. Also, please note that refunds can take up to 5 business days to appear on your statement, depending on the credit card provider. I can assure that Hostgator backs their refund policy 100% and will issue a refund if one is rightfully owed to the customer. |

Well it sure is funny that it just showed up on my PayPal account. As I said this was VERY BAD BUSINESS; and I have never heard so many excuses. Here are the tickets I opened, you can look and see how many times I asked for a refund:
PGL-3000311 PJX-3001348 CBU-2995895 Listen, I left hostgator because I got a MUCH better deal. I had NO complaints until I asked for my refund and was ignored. I have filed complaints with the BBB in Houston and the FTC on this matter. I will notify them I now have my money BUT the problem still exists. You advertise same day refund, no questions asked and did NOT follow what you said. All of this could have been avoided had you followed your own advertisement promises! |

I am glad that you have received your refund. After viewing your cancellation ticket I would like to explain that tickets appear in our system in order from oldest activity (customer response) to newest activity. When you repeatedly reply to your ticket without a Hostgator representative responding it will push your ticket to the bottom of our ticket queue. This will explain why you did not receive a response about your refund in the time period you expected. Otherwise I can assure you that Hostgator would have gladly honored your refund request.
Once again, I am glad that everything has been resolved. I wish you the best of luck and hope you reconsider Hostgator in the future.
